AGE & LICENCE REQUIREMENTS:
All drivers must be aged between 23 and 75 and be able to produce a full valid licence that has been held for a minimum of 2 years.
As the paper counterpart to the UK licence no longer exists, all drivers will need to provide a pre-generated share code from the DVLA to allow a check to be made for any endorsements or convictions on the licence:
- Please visit www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence – you will need to enter your driving licence number, national insurance number and your postcode
- Follow the instructions for sharing/printing your licence and this will generate a share code that will be valid for up to 21 days
There are certain endorsements / convictions that would prevent us from hiring so if the driver has any, it is advisable to check with us before booking; in general, for drivers that are 25 or over, minor endorsements up to 6 points are acceptable; major endorsements and points in excess of 6 are subject to insurance clearance. Drivers aged 23 and 24 must have no more than 1 minor endorsement with a maximum of 3 points.
INSURANCE EXCESSES & LIABILITIES:
All prices quoted are inclusive of insurance for 1 named driver.
The insurance is subject to an excess, which is the cost to the hirer in the event of the hire vehicle being damaged whilst on rent. Our standard excess is between £500 and £1000 dependent on the type of vehicle hired. An optional insurance is available that will reduce the hirer’s liability at an additional daily cost.
Additional drivers can be added providing that they meet the age and licence required and are able to provide the licence information detailed above. This will also attract an additional daily cost.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
On collection of the vehicle hirers will need to provide with their driving licence a proof of address; this can be in the form of a utility bill or bank statement that was issued in the last 3 months, and also either a credit or a debit card. Overseas visitors will need to provide their passport and proof of return flight details.
PAYMENT METHODS:
We can accept payments by Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro. Rental charges can be paid either in advance on booking or on collection of the vehicle. A security deposit of £250 is also required to be paid on collection of the vehicle – this is fully refundable providing the vehicle is returned undamaged and with the required fuel level.
